Recently, England and New Zealand did really well in South Asian countries. They won important series in Pakistan. England beat Pakistan in cricket tests 3-0. Young players like Harry Brook and Jack Leach played amazingly. New Zealand, led by Kane Williamson, also won against Pakistan, breaking a 46-year dry spell of winning one-day matches there. Australia also did better in South Asia.
In the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India in 2022-23, Australia didn’t start well, losing the first two games to India. But they fought back hard in the last two matches. Nathan Lyon played a big role in Australia’s win in the third match in Indore. This isn’t the first time a team has won in South Asia. In the past, other teams also won against South Asian teams in their own countries.

5. Makhaya Ntini
Makhaya Ntini was a great cricket player for South Africa from 1998 to 2011. He played in 284 games and took 662 wickets. In matches in places like India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, he got many wickets too. For example, in India, he played 12 games and got 29 wickets. In Pakistan, he got 33 wickets in 14 games, and in Sri Lanka, he got 19 wickets in 15 games.
In 2007, South Africa won an important series against Pakistan in Pakistan. Ntini was a big part of this win, taking 12 wickets in five matches. In 2008, he helped South Africa beat India in a test match in Ahmedabad by taking three wickets in each innings, which led to South Africa winning by a big margin.
4. Shane Warne
Shane Warne was an amazing cricket player for Australia. He was really good at spin bowling. In 2002-03, when Australia played against Pakistan, Warne played incredibly well. He got 27 batters out in three games, helping Australia win all three matches. Then, in 2004, when Australia played against Sri Lanka, Warne showed his skills again. In three matches, he got 26 batters out. After that, in a series against India, he got 14 batters out in three matches, helping Australia win a series in India after 35 years. Warne retired in 2007 after playing 339 matches and taking 1001 wickets.
3. Michael Clarke
Michael Clarke is seen as one of the greatest batters in Australian cricket history. He scored more than 17,000 runs in his career, playing different types of cricket games, and had a big impact on Australian cricket. His achievements made him important not only in Australia but also in the whole world of cricket.
In the Border Gavaskar Trophy of 2004-05, Clarke showed how good he was. He scored 400 runs in eight turns at bat during four matches. This helped his team win the series by two wins to one. In the first test in Bengaluru, he made 151 runs to help Australia win by 217 runs. Because of his great play, he was named the best player in the match.
He also played well in Sri Lanka in 2011. During a series of five one-day cricket games, he scored 242 runs with two half-centuries. His average score per game was amazing, at 121.00. With these fantastic numbers, he became the player who scored the most runs for Australia in that series.
2. Jacques Kallis
Jacques Kallis, a former cricket player from South Africa, played for his country for 19 years. He scored a total of 25,534 runs in 519 matches, including 62 centuries and 149 fifties. He’s second in terms of centuries scored in test cricket, with 45 tons.
Kallis also played a lot of cricket in places like India. In 99 games there, he scored 4,399 runs, including 11 centuries and 26 half-centuries. In 2007, he played exceptionally well during a tour of Pakistan.
During a two-match Test series, Kallis scored 421 runs with three centuries and a fifty. This helped South Africa win their first Test series in Pakistan. After this success, he played in a three-match Test series in India in 2008. In one match against a strong Indian team led by Anil Kumble, Kallis scored 132 runs, contributing to his team’s victory in Ahmedabad.
1. Adam Gilchrist
Adam Gilchrist, the former Australian cricket player, was famous for his brave way of batting. When he played, Australia won many matches because of how well he batted. After Australia won the 2003 World Cup, they went to India for a one-day series seven months later. New Zealand also played in the tournament.
In the important tournament, Australia beat both teams and won. Gilchrist scored the most runs for Australia in the tournament, getting 296 runs in six matches at a very fast pace. In 2004, he helped Australia win against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. He scored 144 runs in one of the matches, which, along with another player’s score of 161, helped Australia avoid losing.
Later that year, Australia went to India for a four-match Test series. Gilchrist had to be both a batsman and the captain because Ricky Ponting was injured.
