Ahmad Shahzad Criticizes PCB for Pakistan Cricket’s Decline

In a recent video shared on his X account, Pakistan cricketer Ahmad Shahzad criticizes the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He compared the PCB’s management style to household chores, where the board focuses on damage control rather than addressing core issues.

Shahzad said, “The current state of the Pakistan cricket team is so poor that the PCB needs people who can take the blame for their failures.” He further added that as the team’s performance declines, those responsible seem to receive higher payments. Shahzad likened the PCB’s approach to that of maids cleaning a house, where only the visibly dirty areas are cleaned while ignoring deeper problems.

Pakistan’s Recent Struggles

Pakistan has been facing difficulties lately, with an early exit from this year’s T20 World Cup. They also suffered a major loss to Bangladesh, who won by ten wickets in their first Test against Pakistan after 14 previous failed attempts. Additionally, Pakistan was whitewashed in a three-match Test series in Australia.

Ahmad Shahzad’s Career

Ahmad Shahzad, known for his aggressive batting, debuted for Pakistan in 2009 in an ODI match. He quickly became a key player, especially in limited-overs formats. However, over time, his performance became inconsistent, and he struggled with fitness issues. The 32-year-old last played for Pakistan in a T20I in 2019.
