Kieron Pollard, the former West Indies all-rounder, showed he’s still a powerful hitter by scoring a remarkable 19-ball fifty for the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL. Although Pollard retired from international cricket, he proved he still has his old form. As captain of the Knight Riders, he played an explosive innings, scoring 52 runs from just 19 balls to help his team chase down a target of 188 runs.

In a thrilling finish, Pollard hit four huge sixes in one over, taking 27 runs off just 12 balls. With the match in the balance, Pollard’s aggressive batting turned the game around. In the 19th over, he faced Matthew Forde and smashed four towering sixes. The first two balls of the over went for dots, but Pollard then launched three consecutive sixes, making the victory almost certain. Alzarri Joseph then hit a boundary to seal the win, marking Pollard’s first CPL fifty since 2021.

Pollard’s recent performance reminded fans of his impressive history with the Mumbai Indians. From 2010 to 2022, Pollard scored 3,412 runs in 189 matches for MI, including 16 half-centuries. Some of his notable innings include 64 off 33 balls against Rajasthan Royals in 2012, 83 off 31 balls against Punjab Kings in 2019, and 66 off 27 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2013. His most memorable innings was a blistering 60 off 24 balls against Royal Challengers in IPL 2020, where MI chased down a target of 90 runs in just five overs.
