Runners-up and Semi-finalists to Benefit from Big Increases

The runners-up will also see a 134% rise in their prize, taking home $1.17 million. Semi-finalists will earn $675,000 each, which is more than three times what they received in 2023.

Group Stage Wins to Get Higher Rewards

Prize money is not just for the knockout stages. Teams that win a match in the group stage will now receive $31,154, a 78% increase from last year’s $17,500.

Base Prize for All Participating Teams

Even teams that are knocked out in the group stage will receive a minimum of $112,500 each, with a total of $1.125 million shared among all 10 teams. This ensures every team receives financial support, no matter their performance.

Teams finishing between fifth and eighth will earn $270,000 each, while the ninth and tenth-placed teams will receive $135,000 each.

ICC’s Commitment to Women’s Cricket

This historic prize pool reflects the ICC’s dedication to growing women’s cricket and promoting fairness between the men’s and women’s games. It also highlights the importance of the Women’s T20 World Cup as one of the top events in the sport.

Tournament Schedule

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off on October 3, with matches being played in Dubai and Sharjah. All group stage matches will conclude by October 15, followed by the semi-finals on October 17 and 18. The final match, where the two top teams will compete for the trophy, is scheduled for October 20.

One schedule change to note: on October 5, Australia will play Sri Lanka at 2:00 PM, followed by Bangladesh vs. England at 6:00 PM in Sharjah.
