10 Highest Powerplay Scores in the IPL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for exciting cricket with lots of runs scored. In the first six overs, called the powerplay, batters try to score as many runs as possible while few fielders are allowed far from the pitch. This part of the game sets the pace for the rest of the innings. Fans have seen amazing performances during this time, where batters dominate and bowlers struggle.

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad (125/0 vs Delhi Capitals, 2024)

This is the best place, and it happened recently! In a game against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad played amazingly. Their first batters, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head, hit the ball hard against the DC team, scoring a huge 125 runs without getting out. Travis Head, especially, was outstanding, reaching fifty runs in just 16 balls, the quickest for SRH in IPL 2024.

2. Kolkata Knight Riders (105/0 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, 2017)

In 2017, during a match in Bengaluru, KKR’s opening batsmen, Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine, hit the ball really hard. They didn’t lose any wickets and scored 105 runs in the first six overs of the game.

3. Chennai Super Kings (100/2 vs Punjab Kings, 2014)

The Super Kings usually play it safe when batting, but in 2014 against Punjab Kings, they decided to be more aggressive. Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith hit hard, scoring 100 runs quickly with only two players out in the early overs of the game.

9. Kochi Tuskers Kerala (87/2 vs Rajasthan Royals, 2011)

In 2011, Kochi Tuskers Kerala had a great start against the Royals team. Their batters scored 87 runs while losing only two wickets in the early part of the game. This set them up well for a win for Kochi.

10. Kolkata Knight Riders (86/0 vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru, 2024)
