Since Ruturaj Gaikwad started playing in the IPL, he has been an outstanding player for the Chennai Super Kings. He won the Orange Cap in the 2021 season by scoring 635 runs, including one century and four fifties, helping the team win their fourth IPL title.

Since his debut in 2020, Gaikwad has been a key player at the top of the batting order, scoring over 2,100 runs in just 60 games with an average of over 41. His highest score for the Chennai Super Kings is 108 runs against Lucknow in the 2024 IPL, which is the fifth-highest score for the team.

In 43 matches for CSK, Watson scored over 1,200 runs with an average above 30, including two centuries and seven half-centuries. One of his centuries was in the 2018 final against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he scored 117 runs and led CSK to victory on his own. This was the second-highest score for the team.
