Top 5 Players Who Went Unsold in LLC 2024 Auction

Players Who Went Unsold in LLC 2024 Auction

The much-anticipated LLC 2024 auction recently wrapped up. All the teams involved in the tournament took part, bidding for their preferred players to build their squads.

In total, six teams – Manipal Tigers, Urbanrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Giants, India Capitals, Southern Superstars, and Konark Suryas Odisha – signed 97 players.

Even though many top international players were picked by various teams, some notable players were left out.

Here are the top 5 players who didn’t get sold in the LLC 2024 auction:

5. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch, Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning captain, had a standout performance in the 2024 Legends League. With extensive T20 experience, including playing for nine different IPL franchises and representing the Melbourne Renegades in 107 matches, his absence from the LLC 2024 is surprising.

4. Ben Cutting

Ben Cutting, despite a relatively brief international career of around 4.5 years, has been a key player in T20 leagues worldwide. Known for his powerful batting and accurate medium-pace bowling, Cutting’s exclusion from LLC 2024 is unexpected.

3. Shaun Marsh

Another Australian cricketer on the list is the aggressive opening batsman Shaun Marsh. He has been so dominant that his fiery approach has shown in longer formats of the game as well. It was not surprising that franchises wanted to sign him, given his impressive performance in T20 matches over the years.

2. TM Dilshan

TM Dilshan

Even though Dilshan, who was the first to popularize the ramp shot, has been away from professional cricket for a while (his last appearance was in the previous edition of the Legends League Cricket last year), his extensive experience with white-ball cricket is undeniable. He retired at a time when T20 cricket was becoming more common, but he stayed involved in the game by playing in many T20 matches.

1. Martin Guptill

Even though Guptill’s Test career had many interruptions, he made sure his white-ball career was more consistent. Known for his graceful short-arm pull shot while standing on one leg, Guptill has always stood out in every team he has played for, showing off his aggressive and purposeful batting. It’s surprising that he’s not included this time.
