Salman Butt’s Response to Strike Rate Focus
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Butt criticized the experts pushing for faster batting. He said, “The people talking about strike rates and intent in Tests don’t really understand the game.” He questioned the logic behind playing faster when Pakistan’s goal should have been to bat for longer periods.
He further added, “Do top players like Joe Root, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma play like they’re showing highlights?“

Pakistan’s Fall in ICC Rankings
Pakistan’s defeat to Bangladesh dropped them to eighth in the ICC Test Rankings, the lowest since 1965. The series loss was the first time Pakistan lost to Bangladesh in red-ball cricket. Their drop in rankings comes after two wins from seven matches in the ICC World Test Championship, leaving them with a points percentage of 19.05.
