Cricket Australia mentioned that the full severity of Green’s injury will only be understood after he is assessed in Perth. The first Test against India is about two months away, set to start on November 22 in Perth.

Green, who is 25 years old, experienced back pain after the third ODI in Chester-le-Street. In that match, he took 2 wickets for 45 runs and scored 45 runs with the bat. Scans confirmed the back injury, leading to his early return to Australia before the important series against India.

Previous Matches and Injuries

Green was rested from the second ODI in Leeds to manage his workload. However, he had played all three T20I matches against Scotland.

Australia’s tour of the UK has been tough in terms of injuries, with Green becoming the fifth player to return home. Before him, Nathan Ellis, Xavier Bartlett, Riley Meredith, and Ben Dwarshuis also had to leave due to injuries.
