“Former CSK player Ambati Rayudu shares how CSK fans prioritize MS Dhoni over others, even expressing frustration. IPL 2024 buzz intensifies.”
Ambati Rayudu, a former Indian cricket player, shared that most fans of the Chennai Super Kings team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) mainly support MS Dhoni. Rayudu mentioned how the crowd would stay quiet even when he or Ravindra Jadeja hit a six or a four, but would cheer loudly whenever Dhoni appeared. This was tough for him and Jadeja, who also felt frustrated by it but couldn’t change it.
In an interview on Star Sports, Rayudu expressed, “Even when you hit a six and a four, the crowd is silent. Me and Jadeja felt that in the last few years. I really believe when I say this, that CSK fans are MS Dhoni fans first, and CSK fans later. Even Jadeja gets frustrated but he cannot do anything.”
During IPL 2024, fans continue to flock to stadiums mainly to watch MS Dhoni play. Reports suggest that this might be Dhoni’s final season in the IPL, adding to the excitement among fans.
Rayudu once praised Dhoni as the ‘God of Chennai predicting. That temples might be built in his honor in the future. “He is the God of Chennai . I am sure temples of MS Dhoni would be built in the years to come in Chennai. Rayudu said on Star Sports.
“He is a legend and someone everybody celebrates in the crowd. They might be thinking that this might be his last game in Chennai,” he added.
