Dinesh Karthik, the wicket-keeper batter for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), played his last Indian Premier League (IPL) game in an Eliminator match against Rajasthan Royals. The game ended in a defeat for RCB. Karthik had hinted that this would be his final IPL season, and the league’s broadcaster confirmed his retirement through a social media post after the match.

Emotional Farewell

After the game, Karthik took off his gloves and acknowledged the fans. He and his teammates, including Virat Kohli, went around the stadium to thank the spectators. Karthik received a guard of honor from his RCB teammates as he walked back to the dressing room, a moment that was both emotional and memorable.

Impressive IPL Career

Karthik ends his IPL career with impressive statistics: 4,842 runs in 257 matches, including 22 fifties. His IPL journey spanned over 17 years, during which he played for six different franchises. He started with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2008 and later played for Punjab, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Lions, Kolkata Knight Riders, and finally RCB.

Last Season Performance

In the current season, Karthik scored 326 runs in 15 matches, with an average of 36.22 and a striking rate of 187.36. His contributions and achievements have left a significant mark on the league and its fans.
