Kolkata Knight Riders Bowlers Secure Victory by Defending 169 at Wankhede Stadium

Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians in a surprising match with a score below 200. This win improved their ranking in the top four teams. It was their first victory at this stadium since 2012. Initially, kolkotta king rider faced batting struggles, but Venkatesh Iyer’s performance helped them reach a score of 169 on a new and tricky pitch. Mitchell Starc took wickets both at the beginning and end of the innings. The spinners also caused trouble for Mumbai Indians during the middle of their chase, despite Suryakumar Yadav’s strong efforts.

Death-overs: Bumrah mops up after Russell run-out

Hardik kept the ball slow, and it helped him get Pandey out for 42 runs. Then, Andre Russell came in and hit a big six, boosting KKR’s score. But, a bad decision by Venkatesh got Russell out. Bumrah then took charge, getting two more wickets, and Venkatesh added some runs before getting out too. In the end, Venkatesh scored 70 runs in 52 balls.

Mitchell Starc began the game by getting rid of Ishan Kishan, who got out after hitting a six on the last ball. Naman Dhir tried to move forward but was dismissed by Varun Chakravarthy on the first ball of the fourth over. Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians’ key player, got out next when he made a mistake while attempting a pull shot against Sunil Narine in the sixth over. It was the eighth time he fell to the spinner in the tournament.
