La liga to Offer €6 Million for Barcelona’s defenders

La liga to Offer €6 Million for Barcelona’s Stake of defenders

Celta Vigo is reportedly planning to offer €6 million to buy Barcelona’s 50% stake in Oscar Mingueza, as per journalist Oscar Mendez.

Mingueza has been one of the top performers in La Liga this season, standing out with his excellent form for Celta Vigo. In just four games, he has scored twice and provided three assists, making him one of the leading players alongside Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski.

Mingueza’s Best Season So Far

Currently, Mingueza is playing the best football of his career, and Celta are seeing the rewards of signing him in 2022. Barcelona still holds 50% of his economic rights and is monitoring his progress closely.

Even so, Celta has the final say regarding his future. Mingueza joined Celta on a free transfer over two years ago when Barcelona needed to offload players due to financial struggles.

Celta Won’t Let Mingueza Go

Recently, there has been talk in the Catalan media about Barcelona wanting to bring Mingueza back to the club. Some sources suggest that a bid of around €9-10 million might convince Barcelona to buy him back.

However, Celta has dismissed the possibility of such a deal, though they do acknowledge that Barcelona has the option to match any offers if they choose to sell Mingueza.

Instead, it appears more likely that Celta will try to buy out Barcelona’s share of the player. They are reportedly thinking of offering around €6 million, even though his release clause is set at €20 million.

Future Plans for Mingueza

Celta wants to avoid turning this situation into a prolonged issue. With Mingueza’s contract running until June 2026, they are considering renewing his deal or selling him, but they don’t want to lose him for free.

Mingueza has expressed his happiness at Celta and is grateful to the club for their support during a tough period in his career.

If Barcelona continues to face financial difficulties, they might be forced to accept a deal for Mingueza, even though he is no longer under contract with them, as it could provide them with much-needed funds.
