MS Dhoni Should Look in the Mirror: Yograj Singh’s Strong Accusations

Yograj Singh's Strong Accusations

Yograj Singh, the father of former cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has once again criticized Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the captain who led India to victory in the 2011 World Cup. Yograj has frequently spoken out against Dhoni, accusing him of ruining Yuvraj’s career. However, Yuvraj himself has always spoken positively about Dhoni, his former captain and teammate. Under Dhoni’s leadership, Yuvraj played a crucial role in India’s victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup. Yuvraj’s performances reached new heights during Dhoni’s time as captain.

Yograj’s Harsh Words

In an interview on the Zee Switch YouTube channel, Yograj Singh once again blamed Dhoni for ending Yuvraj’s career early and expressed that he will never forgive him.

I will never forgive MS Dhoni. He should take a good look at himself in the mirror. He’s a great cricketer, but what he did to my son is unforgivable. I have never forgiven anyone who has wronged me, and I never will, not even my own family,” Yograj stated during the interview.

Yuvraj’s Potential and Early Retirement

Yograj further claimed that Yuvraj could have played for another 4-5 years if it weren’t for Dhoni, who he blames for Yuvraj’s early retirement.

“That man (MS Dhoni) destroyed my son’s career, which could have lasted several more years. I challenge anyone to find another son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said there will never be another Yuvraj Singh. India should honor him with the Bharat Ratna for playing through cancer and winning the World Cup for the country,” Yograj added.

Yuvraj Singh’s Legacy

Yuvraj Singh represented India in 402 international matches between 2000 and 2017, scoring 11,178 runs, including 17 centuries and 71 half-centuries. He is regarded as one of India’s greatest cricketers and was part of the teams that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2002 (joint-winners with Sri Lanka), the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, and the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.

Yuvraj last played for India in June 2017 against the West Indies and announced his retirement from international cricket in June 2019.
