Mumbai Indians Struggles
The Mumbai Indians finished at the bottom of the 10-team points table in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, winning only 4 out of 10 matches. Hardik Pandya took over as captain from Rohit Sharma, a move that was frequently discussed throughout the season.
Nita Ambani’s Address
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Mumbai Indians’ owner Nita Ambani expressed her disappointment with the season. Speaking both as an owner and a fan, she emphasized the need to review and understand what went wrong.
“Disappointing season for all of us. Things didn’t go the way we wanted them to, but I’m still a huge Mumbai Indians fan. Not just an owner. I think to wear the Mumbai Indians jersey is a huge honour and a privilege, and to be associated with Mumbai Indians, for me, is an honour and a privilege. I think, we will go back, review and think about it,” Ambani said.
Message for Key Players
Nita Ambani also shared a special message for the key Indian players on the team—Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah. These players are set to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024 with the Indian squad.
“To Rohit, Hardik, Surya (Suryakumar Yadav), and (Jasprit) Bumrah, I think, all Indians are cheering for you. We wish you all the best,” she added.
