Pakistan Cricketers Set for CPL Action: Pakistan Cricket Board Approves Four Players

PCB Approves Four Players

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) to four cricketers for participation in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), which starts this weekend. The approved players are wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan, opener Fakhar Zaman, left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir, and all-rounder Imad Wasim. Azam Khan will represent the Guyana Amazon Warriors, while Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Amir, and Imad Wasim will play for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

Request Denied

The Pakistan Cricket Board has denied a request from young opener Saim Ayub for an NOC to join the CPL. Saim Ayub is currently engaged with the Pakistan team for their ongoing home Test series against Bangladesh.

Previous NOC Decisions

In a previous decision, the PCB also refused NOCs to star players Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan for the Global T20 Canada. The decision was based on Pakistan’s packed cricket schedule, which includes nine ICC World Test Championship matches and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Upcoming Fixtures

Pakistan is currently trailing 1-0 in their home Test series against Bangladesh, following a 10-wicket loss in Rawalpindi. The second Test is set to begin on August 30.
