The incident occurred during the IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 match held in Chennai, where Sunrisers Hyderabad emerged victorious by 36 runs. While the specific reason for the fine was not disclosed by the organizers, it is believed to be related to Hetmyer’s reaction following his dismissal. In frustration, he attempted to smash the stumps after being bowled by Abhishek Sharma in the 14th over of the chase.
