Siddhivinayak temple: Team India captain Rohit Sharma and BCCI secretary Jay Shah reached Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai on Wednesday with the T20 World Cup trophy. Both of them visited with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy and took blessings of Lord Ganesha. The picture of Rohit and Shah is going viral on social media. The photo is also being discussed a lot because after worshiping, the trophy has also been garlanded. After darshan, Rohit and Shah were seen in pink stoles.
Siddhivinayak temple: India won the ICC trophy after 11 years
Let us tell you that India won the T20 World Cup on 29 June. India ended the ICC trophy drought after 11 years. India clashed with South Africa in the title match, which was played at the Barbados ground. India won the toss in the final and chose to bat and scored 176/7. Virat Kohli played a brilliant innings of 76 and Axar Patel 46 in difficult times. In response, South Africa scored 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
In that match, the South African team had the upper hand till the 15th over, but in the last five overs, the Indian bowlers made a tremendous comeback and won by seven runs. Hardik Pandya saved 16 runs in the 20th over and the Indian team created history. India won the T20 World Cup after 17 years, which is its second title in the shortest format.
India won the first T20 World Cup in 2007 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. India won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 before the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit, popularly known as ‘Hitman’, retired from T20 International cricket after winning the trophy. Apart from Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have also said goodbye to T20 International. Rohit is now the captain of only ODI and Test team. At the same time, the command of the Indian T20 team is in the hands of Suryakumar Yadav.
