Ronaldo Becomes First to Score 900 Goals in Football

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 900th career goal during Portugal’s Nations League match against Croatia. The goal came in the 34th minute when he tapped in a cross from Nuno Mendes, making it 2-0 for Portugal at Estadio da Luz. Portugal eventually won the game 2-1.

Emotional Milestone for Ronaldo

After scoring, the Portuguese star fell to the ground, overcome with emotion. At 39 years old, Ronaldo now has an impressive 131 goals for his national team. His club career includes 450 goals for Real Madrid, 145 for Manchester United, 101 for Juventus, and 68 for Al Nassr. He also scored five goals for Sporting Lisbon, the club where he began his career.

Messi Follows Behind

Argentina’s Lionel Messi is second on the all-time scorer list with 859 career goals. However, Ronaldo is the first male footballer to surpass 900 goals in official matches for both club and country.

Speaking about the milestone, Ronaldo said, “It means a lot. I knew I’d get there, but it’s still emotional because it’s been a tough journey. Scoring 900 goals takes constant physical and mental effort. It’s a unique achievement in my career.”
