Shakib Al Hasan Allowed to Continue Playing Amid Murder Case

Shakib Al Hasan Allowed to Continue Playing

Shakib Al Hasan, a leading Bangladeshi cricketer, is involved in a First Information Report (FIR) with 146 others linked to recent unrest in Bangladesh. This unrest led to the death of garment worker Rubel on August 5 in Dhaka.

BCB’s Decision

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to let Shakib continue playing for the national team until he is proven guilty. This decision comes despite a request from Rafiqul Islam’s lawyers to remove Shakib from all cricketing activities.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed confirmed that Shakib will keep playing while the FIR is still in the early stages. The board will reassess the situation after the first Test against Pakistan. Shakib is also expected to join the Bangladesh team for the upcoming series in India.

Shakib Al Hasan to not return home

After the Pakistan series, Shakib will not return to Bangladesh immediately. Instead, he will play a four-day match for Surrey in England from September 5 to 14. He will rejoin the Bangladesh team for a two-Test series against India, followed by three T20Is.

BCB is prepared to provide legal assistance if needed and aims to support Shakib during this period.
