Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly believes. It would be clever for the Indian team to let Virat Kohli start batting first in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Kohli has been playing really well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) recently, scoring lots of runs quickly.Sourav Ganguly thinks this shows Kohli should be the first one to bat in the World Cup too.
India hasn’t won the T20 World Cup since 2007. but Ganguly thinks the team they’ve picked this time has a good chance to win. He’s especially impressed with their batting and bowling skills. He thinks Jasprit Bumrah is the best fast bowler in the world right now.
In this IPL season, teams have been scoring lots of runs easily. Ganguly thinks this trend will continue because T20 cricket is all about hitting the ball hard and fast. He believes players are now focused on hitting sixes rather than just settling in to play.
Ganguly thinks bowlers need to get better at their skills to keep up with the strong batting in T20s. He mentioned players like Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav as examples of bowlers. Who are doing well despite the tough conditions.
Despite the focus on big hitting, Ganguly believes there’s still room for grace and skill in cricket. He thinks players like Kohli will always shine no matter the format of the game.
When asked about players like Dinesh Karthik wanting to come back into the Indian team. Ganguly thinks selectors made the right choice by picking Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper-batsmen.
Ganguly didn’t want to talk about a situation where the Lucknow Super Giants captain. KL Rahul, was reportedly told off by the team owner. Sanjiv Goenka, as he didn’t know the details of what happened.
