Suryakumar Yadav Injured Ahead of Duleep Trophy

Suryakumar Yadav Injured

India’s T20 captain, Suryakumar Yadav Injured his hand while fielding for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament against TNCA XI. The seriousness of the injury is still unknown, but it raises concerns about his ability to play in the upcoming Duleep Trophy, which starts on September 5. If the injury is severe, it could affect his chances of making a comeback to the Test team.

Suryakumar’s Test Aspirations

Suryakumar has only played one Test match, which was against Australia in Nagpur in February last year. He was eager to perform well in the Buchi Babu tournament in Coimbatore to impress the selectors for the red-ball format. Before the match, he said, “Right now, my focus is on playing in the Buchi Babu tournament, then the Duleep Trophy, and we’ll see what happens next. I’m really looking forward to it since there are ten Test matches lined up at home this season, and I’m excited to play red-ball cricket.”

Mumbai’s Match Situation

In the match against TNCA XI, Mumbai could only score 156 in response to TNCA XI’s 379. With the Tamil Nadu team adding 286 in their second innings, Mumbai now faces a huge target of 510 to win.

Suryakumar’s Role in the Duleep Trophy

Suryakumar is part of the Team C squad, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, for the Duleep Trophy. India’s home season will begin with a two-Test series against Bangladesh in September-October.
