Now, in the next season, Hooda wants to play his best to help Lucknow Super Giants. He did really well with his bat in a recent tournament called the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He scored 480 runs in nine matches for Rajasthan, which was the third-highest score in the tournament. Hooda hopes to keep playing well in the big league games too.
9. Axar Patel- Delhi Capitals (DC)
In 2023, Delhi Capitals had a tough time without their usual captain, Rishabh Pant. With David Warner leading, they didn’t perform well, disappointing their fans. But in 2024, Pant might return to lead the team again. His leadership could boost their batting and help them win again.

7. Moeen Ali- Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Moeen Ali is a key player for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His job is to use his great skills in both batting and bowling to help the team win games. He’s been playing for CSK since 2021 and has done really well. In 2021, when CSK won their fourth title, Moeen scored 357 runs and took six wickets in 15 matches. This year, CSK will rely on him to perform well again.
6. Cameron Green- Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) swapped Cameron Green from Mumbai Indians (MI). Green is from Australia and he’s really good at cricket. He’s good at batting and bowling. He played for MI in 2023 and did well, scoring 452 runs in 16 matches. This year, RCB wants him to help Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis with batting and also to bowl fast for the team.
5. Ravichandran Ashwin- Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Ravichandran Ashwin is the most experienced player on the Rajasthan Royals team. He’s in charge of leading the spin bowling, along with Yuzvendra Chahal. Their job is to get wickets in the middle part of the game.
Ashwin isn’t just good at bowling; he can also bat well. When the team is in a tough spot, he often helps them win with his batting. Fans hope he’ll play both roles again in the next season for RR.
4. Rashid Khan- Gujarat Titans (GT)
Rashid Khan did really well for Gujarat Titans in the last two seasons. He helped the team win some important matches with his great skills. As a bowler, he took 46 wickets in 33 matches and didn’t give away too many runs. He also did well with the bat, scoring 221 runs in 17 innings at a very fast rate.
Rashid is known for hitting the ball hard, especially in the final overs of a game. The Titans are counting on him to help them win the trophy again this year.
3. Sam Curran- Punjab Kings (PBKS)
Sam Curran was bought by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for a really big amount of money, 18.50 crore rupees. But he didn’t play as well as people hoped. He only scored 276 runs and took 10 wickets in 14 matches. This made people question if he was worth the money PBKS spent on him.
Now, he wants to do better and help his team win the trophy. He’s 25 years old and will be an important player for PBKS, especially in their bowling. He’s also good at batting and can win matches for his team.
2. Andre Russell- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Andre Russell didn’t do very well for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2023 IPL. He didn’t play great with either bat or ball, only scoring 227 runs and getting seven wickets in 14 games. KKR fans hope he’ll do better in the next season.
He did okay for the KKR-owned Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in the International League T20 (ILT20). He got 192 runs and six wickets in eight matches for them. His experience will be important for KKR to do well in the next competition.
1. Hardik Pandya- Mumbai Indians (MI)
Hardik Pandya has been making headlines since he came back to play for Mumbai Indians in December 2023. He’s 30 years old now and will be leading the team in the next season. He started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians in 2015 and played for them until 2021.
This time, he’s back as a captain who has won trophies before. The Mumbai Indians team management hopes he can lead the team well. He’s one of the best all-rounders in the league. He’ll try his best to lead the team to victory after four years.
