10 Hundreds of IPL 2024

Cricket fans have seen lots of amazing batting in IPL 2024. Almost every match has had a lot of runs scored and some players even scored 100 runs in one innings.

In just the first 45 days of the tournament, 12 players scored centuries. This matches the record set in IPL 2023 for the most centuries in one season.

The amazing run of centuries started when Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler both scored 100 runs each in a really exciting match between RCB and Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on April 6.

Let’s take a look at all the centuries scored so far in IPL 2024.

1. Virat Kohli – 113* (72)

Virat Kohli scored 113 runs without getting out in a cricket match against Rajasthan Royals on April 6. This made him the first player to score a century in the IPL 2024 season. It took him 67 balls to reach 100 runs, which is one of the slowest centuries ever scored in IPL history. This innings also helped Kohli to increase his record for the most centuries in IPL history to eight.

2. Marcus Stoinis – 124* (63)

When LSG needed to score 211 runs to win, Marcus Stoinis came to bat early in the game. He hit the ball really well, making 124 runs without getting out. He hit 13 fours and six sixes in 63 balls. His great batting helped LSG win the game against Rajasthan Royals, even though Ruturaj Gaikwad had played well earlier. Stoinis’s performance was so good that it stole the spotlight from Gaikwad and led LSG to a strong victory in the last over of the game.

3. Rohit Sharma – 105* (63)

Rohit Sharma played a strong batting innings for Mumbai Indians against CSK on April 14 at the Wankhede Stadium. They needed a lot of runs to win, but Rohit did well by hitting 11 fours and five sixes, scoring 105 runs from 63 balls. Despite his effort, Mumbai Indians still lost the match.

4. Ruturaj Gaikwad – 108* (60)

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain of CSK, played really well in a cricket match against Lucknow Super Giants. He hit lots of boundaries and scored 108 runs from 60 balls on April 23 in Chennai. Even though he started a bit nervous, his excellent batting helped CSK score a big total of 210-4 in the beginning of the game.

5. Jos Buttler – 107* (60)

Later during the chase, Jos Buttler from the Rajasthan Royals team scored a century just like Sunil Narine. He hit 107 runs from 60 balls and helped his team win on the last ball. With this, Buttler became the first player in the IPL 2024 season to score more than one century.

6. Yashasvi Jaiswal – 104* (60)

A week after Jos Buttler showed his amazing skills in chasing runs against KKR, his teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal did really well against the Mumbai Indians. He hit the ball all over the field, making nine fours and seven sixes, and ended up with a great score of 104 not out from 60 balls, helping his team win the match.

7. Sunil Narine – 109 (56)

KKR’s opener, Sunil Narine, hit 109 runs from 56 balls against Rajasthan Royals on April 16 in Kolkata. It was his first century ever in T20 cricket, and he did it in his 504th match. He hit 13 boundaries and six sixes against players like Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

8. Suryakumar Yadav – 102* (51)

On May 6, when Mumbai Indians were playing against SRH, they were in trouble at 31-3 while trying to score 174 runs. Then Suryakumar Yadav, who bats at number four, played amazingly and scored a century in just 51 balls. He hit 12 boundaries and six sixes in his innings to help Mumbai Indians win the match.

9. Jonny Bairstow – 108* (48)

On April 26, Jonny Bairstow from England played in the IPL 2024. He scored over 100 runs at the Eden Gardens stadium. He hit eight boundaries and nine sixes in his innings of 108 runs not out from 48 balls. Bairstow’s performance helped Punjab Kings beat KKR by chasing down 261 runs, which is the highest ever successful run-chase in T20 cricket, including the IPL.

10. Will Jacks – 100* (41)

RCB’s player, Will Jacks, scored 100 runs from 41 balls. He did this in a match against Gujarat Titans on April 28 in Ahmedabad. At one point, he had scored 37 runs from 27 balls. Then, in just 14 balls, he scored 63 more runs to help RCB win the match easily.

11. Travis Head – 102 (41)

Australian cricketer Travis Head scored 102 runs in a match against RCB in Bengaluru on April 15. He did it in just 41 balls, making it the quickest century ever for the SRH team. His powerful hitting, including many sixes, also helped SRH achieve their highest-ever score in the IPL, reaching 287-3 in that game.
