During the T20 World Cup 2024, the pitches made it hard for batters to score runs easily. In New York and St Vincent, teams had low-scoring matches, while St Lucia and Barbados were more favorable for batters later on.
West Indies led by hitting the most sixes (62), followed closely by India (61) and Australia (50). This Caribbean team also set a record for the most sixes in a single T20 World Cup.

5. Michael Leask – 101m
In the 12th match of the T20 World Cup, Scotland played against Namibia in Barbados. Namibia batted first and scored 152 runs. Gerhard Erasmus was their top scorer with 52 runs.
Scotland started their innings and were at 73 for 4 wickets after 11 overs when Leask came to bat. In the 18th over, Leask hit a spectacular shot off Ruben Trumpelmann’s slower ball, sending it flying 101 meters to the deep mid-wicket boundary.
Leask scored 35 runs off 17 balls but got out in the same over. However, Scotland successfully chased down the target with nine balls remaining.

4. Aaron Jones & Heinrich Klaasen – 103m
Aaron Jones played an excellent innings under pressure against Canada in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He scored 94 not out from 40 balls, helping the USA team win by seven wickets. During his impressive innings, Jones hit a massive 103-meter six towards long-on against Dillon Heyliger.
In contrast, Heinrich Klaasen also hit a 103-meter six in the final match against India. His well-timed shot off Axar Patel went deep into the stands at mid-wicket. Klaasen scored 52 runs, the highest for South Africa, but India won the final by seven runs.
3. Sompal Kami & Rahmanullah Gurbaz – 105m
In a thrilling match between Nepal and South Africa, South Africa batted first but could only score 115 runs. Nepal needed 16 runs from the last two overs. In a crucial moment during the penultimate over, Sompal Kami hit a huge 105m six off Anrich Nortje’s slower ball. Despite the big hit, Nepal lost by just one run in a tense finish.
Meanwhile, Rahmanullah Gurbaz played a brilliant innings of 80 runs off 56 balls for Afghanistan against New Zealand. His powerful shot in the penultimate over, smashing Daryl Mitchell’s delivery for a 105m six over long-off, helped Afghanistan reach a total of 159/6. Gurbaz’s performance was instrumental in Afghanistan’s commanding 84-run victory.
2. Phil Salt – 106m
In a T20 World Cup match in Barbados, England’s opener Phil Salt hit a huge six that traveled 106 meters against Australia. Despite Salt (37) and Buttler (42) giving a solid start, England lost by 36 runs against Australia, who had set a strong total of 201 runs. Mitchell Starc bowled a fuller delivery to Salt early in his innings, and Salt struck it well, sending the ball onto the mid-wicket roof.
1. Rovman Powell – 107m
In the T20 World Cup match 18, West Indies played against Uganda in Guyana. Rovman Powell, the West Indies captain, came to bat when his team was at 76/2 after 10 overs.
In the next over, Powell hit a powerful shot off Dinesh Nakrani, sending the ball flying 107 meters out of the stadium. He scored 23 runs before getting out. West Indies finished with a total of 173 runs.
Later, West Indies bowlers were strong against Uganda, winning the match by 134 runs.
