Top 5 Countries with the Most Olympic Medals

In this video, we explore the top 5 countries with the most Olympic medals of all time. The Olympics began in 1896, have seen many nations compete for glory, and some countries have consistently performed at the highest level.

Starting with Australia, which has won a total of 497 medals, including 197 gold medals. Australia has shown exceptional prowess in swimming and has hosted the Olympics twice, in Melbourne (1956) and Sydney (2000).

Next is Sweden, one of the original 14 countries in the modern Olympics, having hosted the Games in Stockholm in 1912. Sweden has earned 495 medals, with 147 being gold.

Great Britain is in third place, with a total of 581 medals and 263 gold medals. They have hosted the Olympics twice, in London (1908 and 2012), and Bradley Wiggins has won the most medals for the country.

France, with 716 medals, including 212 gold, ranks second. France has hosted the Olympics in Paris (1900 and 1924) and will do so again in 2024, excelling in cycling and fencing.

At the top is Germany, which has won an impressive 1,346 medals, including 428 gold. Germany has hosted the Games in Berlin (1936) and Munich (1972), with notable success in canoeing, athletics, and equestrian events.
