5 DC Lowest Scores in IPL

The Delhi Capitals used to be called the Delhi Daredevils. They are a cricket team from Delhi that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The team is owned by a company called GMR Sports Pvt. Ltd., which is part of the GMR Group.

They have played in twelve IPL seasons and have been one of the better teams, but they’ve never won the championship. They usually finish in the top four and have made it to the playoffs five times. However, they’ve also had some really bad games where they scored very few runs.

In this article, we’ll list and discuss the five lowest scores the Delhi Capitals have ever had in the IPL.

5. 84 Against Chennai Super Kings (2014)

A year later, in Abu Dhabi, there was a cricket match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi team. MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai, chose to bat after winning the toss. At first, Delhi played well in bowling, but Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni’s good batting helped Chennai catch up. Chennai scored 177 runs, with Suresh Raina making fifty runs. However, Delhi couldn’t do much against Chennai’s bowlers. James Neesham from Delhi scored 22 runs, but Delhi got bowled out for only 84 runs.

4. 83 Against Chennai Super Kings (2013)

In 2013, DC played against Chennai Super Kings and it was one of their worst matches. It happened at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Chennai Super Kings won the coin toss and chose to bat first. They scored 169 runs, mainly because Michael Hussey played really well as their opening batsman. Delhi Capitals were expected to give a tough fight, but they didn’t. Their batting collapsed badly, with only three players reaching scores above ten runs. Kedar Jadhav was the highest scorer for Delhi Capitals with 31 runs. Mohit Sharma was the most successful bowler for Chennai Super Kings, taking three wickets.

3. 80 Against Sunrisers Hyderabad (2013)

In the 2013 IPL match, Mahela Jayawardene was the captain of Delhi’s team. He won the coin toss and chose for his team to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad. But things didn’t go well because Jayawardene and Virender Sehwag got out early. This was a big problem. None of the other players could score much. Only four players scored more than ten runs. Finally, with just six overs and one ball left, Hyderabad reached the score they needed to win the match.

2. 67 Against Kings XI Punjab (2017)

The second worst game for DC was against Kings XI Punjab. It happened in Mohali. Glenn Maxwell, the captain of Kings XI Punjab, chose that Delhi Capitals should bat first after winning the toss. Only three batsmen scored more than 10 runs, but none could reach 20 runs. In the end, Delhi Capitals got all out for just 67 runs. Sandeep Sharma from Kings XI Punjab took four wickets by only giving away 20 runs, causing most of the damage.

1. 66 Against Mumbai Indians (2017)

DC had really low scores in IPL sometimes. One time, they only scored 66 runs against Mumbai Indians in 2017. It happened because Delhi’s captain, Zaheer Khan, let Mumbai bat first after winning the toss. Mumbai did great, scoring 212 runs. Delhi’s batters didn’t do well at all. Only one of them scored more than 10 runs.
