Karun Nair, one of only two Indian players to score a triple century in Test cricket, last played in the IPL in 2020 for Punjab Kings. He played his final international match in March 2017 against Australia.
Although Nair has not been picked by any franchise since 2022 and hasn’t played in the IPL since 2020, the 32-year-old could be selected as an uncapped player in the IPL 2025 auction due to his impressive performance in the recent Maharaja T20 Trophy in Bengaluru.

4. Karn Sharma
Karn Sharma has been a seasoned player in India’s domestic cricket but did not reach his full potential on the international stage due to limited chances. He played four matches for India in late 2014.
This year, Sharma showcased his batting skills for RCB, hitting three sixes in four balls against IPL star Mitchell Starc, nearly achieving a remarkable victory. He received praise from fans and RCB’s coach Andy Flower, who compared him to the legendary Brian Lara.

2. Vijay Shankar
Vijay Shankar, an Indian all-rounder, last played for India in the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He is currently with the Gujarat Titans and scored 301 runs in 14 matches during the 2023 season, with a remarkable strike rate of 160.11 and three fifties.
Shankar has a career IPL strike rate of nearly 130 and an average of 25.34. After a disappointing season, it’s uncertain if he will be retained by the Titans or enter the 2025 auction as an uncapped player.
1. Piyush Chawla
Piyush Chawla, a two-time World Cup winner for India (2007 T20 and 2011 ODI), is the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history. He has been with the Mumbai Indians since 2021 and won the IPL in 2014 with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Chawla likely played his last international match in December 2012, but he remains relevant in the IPL, having taken 35 wickets for Mumbai Indians in the last two seasons combined.
