Over the years, some players have been bought for high prices at auction.

5. Siddharth Desai to Telugu Titans for Rs 1.45 crore (Season 7)

Siddharth Desai made a big impact in his debut season with U Mumba, scoring 218 raid points. His outstanding performance led Telugu Titans to pick him for the next season. He proved his worth by earning 217 raid points, justifying his ₹1.45 crore price tag.

Despite Telugu’s poor season, where they finished 11th out of 12 teams, Desai stood out with his raiding abilities. However, in Season 8, after playing a few matches for Telugu, he had to step out due to a wrist injury.

4. Monu Goyat to Haryana Steelers for Rs 1.51 crore (Season 6)

When Monu Goyat was sold for a huge amount, it made headlines at the time. He became the first kabaddi player to cross the ₹1 crore mark in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) auction, being purchased by the Haryana Steelers for ₹1.51 crore.

Despite Haryana’s poor performance in Season 6, Monu delivered by scoring 160 raid points, maintaining his strong form. He later joined UP Yoddha before the seventh season began.

3. Pardeep Narwal to UP Yoddhas for Rs 1.65 crore (Season 8)

Pardeep Narwal, a legendary name in PKL history, is a kabaddi player who consistently dazzles fans with his incredible skills. During the Season 8 auction, UP Yoddhas secured him for an impressive ₹1.65 crore. Throughout the season, Pardeep racked up 188 points, playing a crucial role in guiding his team to the semi-finals.

Although the Yoddhas were defeated in the semi-finals by his former team, Patna Pirates, Pardeep’s outstanding performance left a lasting impact. He will continue to represent the Yoddhas in the upcoming season after being retained through FBM in the PKL 9 auction and again in PKL 10.

2. Pawan Sehrawat to Tamil Thalaivas in 2.26 crore (Season 9)

Pawan Sehrawat was highly anticipated from the start, but no one could have predicted that he would become the first player in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history to be sold for over ₹2 crores. He stole the spotlight at the auction when Tamil Thalaivas bought him for a record-breaking ₹2.26 crores.

However, things didn’t go as the franchise had hoped. The star raider got injured in the very first match of the season and was sidelined for the rest of the games. Consequently, the team released him before the PKL 10 auction.

1. Pawan Sehrwat to Telugu Titans in 2.63 crore (Season 10)

High-flying raider Pawan Sehrawat once again became the most expensive player in PKL history during the season 10 auction. He was acquired by Telugu Titans for a substantial amount during the 10th season’s auction, at 2 crores, 60 lakhs, and 50 thousand. Pawan Sehrawat had a base price of 20 lakhs, and Telugu Titans made a direct bid for him at 1 crore. Despite efforts from Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers, and Tamil Thalaivas, Telugu Titans secured Pawan Sehrawat for more than 2 crores.

Still, the franchise’s fortune didn’t change as they once again finished at the bottom of the table. Pawan was the lone wolf of the team, he didn’t receive any support from the other players of his team.
