1. Yuvraj Singh Vs Stuart Broad- 36 Runs, Durban, 2007

Stuart Broad has an unfortunate record for giving up the most runs in one over in T20 International cricket. This happened in the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 against India. Yuvraj Singh hit six consecutive sixes off Broad’s over, making a total of 36 runs.

This happened after a heated argument, which made Yuvraj play aggressively against Broad. A young Stuart Broad was left shocked and couldn’t stop Yuvraj Singh, who played amazingly well.

India won the game by 18 runs, and Yuvraj Singh set a record for the fastest fifty in T20Is. This moment marked the beginning of a great career for Yuvraj Singh.

2. Kieron Pollard Vs Akila Dananjaya – 36 runs, Coolidge, 2021

Akila Dananjaya gave up 36 runs in one over against the West Indies in March 2021. During a match between the West Indies and Sri Lanka, Kieron Pollard hit six sixes in a row off Dananjaya, matching Yuvraj Singh’s record. This happened right after Dananjaya had taken a hat-trick in the same game. Pollard’s impressive performance happened in Coolidge, making it a memorable but tough moment for Dananjaya.

The West Indies dominated the game. They kept Sri Lanka to 131 runs, and even though Dananjaya’s hat-trick initially troubled them, Pollard’s outstanding play turned things around. Despite the difficult conditions, Pollard not only played a winning innings but also made history in T20 cricket by hitting Dananjaya for six sixes in one over.

3. Dipendra Singh Airee Vs Kamran Khan – 36 Runs, Al Amerat, 2024

In an ACC Men’s T20 Cup match, Dipendra Singh Airee from Nepal hit six sixes in one over, just like Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard did in the past. He hit these sixes against Qatar’s Kamran Khan when Nepal’s score was 174/7 in the final over of the first innings.

Airee ended his batting with 64 runs from just 21 balls. He also took two wickets while Nepal was fielding. By hitting six sixes in one over, Airee made history in T20 international cricket.

4. Nicholas Pooran Vs Azmatullah Omarzai – 36 Runs, Gros Islet

In the last group game of the 2024 T20 World Cup, Nicholas Pooran from the West Indies hit Azmatullah Omarzai of Afghanistan very hard, making it one of the most expensive overs in T20I history.

The West Indies were on their way to a big score in the first innings, with Pooran playing very well. In the fourth over of the powerplay, Pooran hit a six and a four on the first two balls, but the second ball was called illegal.

Pooran then got 5 extra runs from wides and hit 2 more fours and 2 sixes, ending the over with 36 runs.

5. Ryan Burl Vs Nasum Ahmed – 34 Runs, Harare, 2022

In an important game, Ryan Burl from Zimbabwe helped his team by hitting Nasum Ahmed of Bangladesh for 34 runs in the 15th over of the first innings. Zimbabwe was struggling at 67/6, but Burl played aggressively and helped his team reach a good total. Nasum Ahmed ended up being the main target of his hits.

Ryan Burl hit Nasum Ahmed for four sixes, a four, and another six, scoring 34 runs in that one over. Because of Burl’s strong hitting, Zimbabwe scored a total of 156 runs and won the game by 10 runs, surprising Bangladesh in the three-game series.
