The Pro Kabaddi League PKL auction season 11 auction set new records as franchises went all out to secure top talent. For the first time in the league’s history, eight players crossed the Rs 1 crore mark. Among them, five players stood out as the most sought-after by teams at the auction held at Mumbai’s Jio Convention Centre. These players have consistently performed well over the years, proving their worth and attracting big bids.

1. Sachin Tanwar (Tamil Thalaivas) – Rs 2.15 crore

Sachin Tanwar became the most expensive player in the PKL 2024 auction, with Tamil Thalaivas signing him for a whopping Rs 2.15 crore. Sachin has been a consistent performer since making his debut in season 5 with Gujarat Giants, where he scored 159 raid points. He continued to impress in season 6 with 190 raid points.

Despite a slight dip in season 7, where he managed only 84 raid points, Sachin bounced back strongly in season 8 with Patna Pirates, scoring 172 raid points. He followed this up with 176 and 171 points in seasons 9 and 10, cementing his status as one of the top raiders in the league.

2. Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh (Haryana Steelers) – Rs 2.07 crore

Iranian all-rounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh was the second most expensive player in the PKL 2024 auction, joining Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.07 crore. Shadloui debuted in season 8 with Patna Pirates, scoring 89 tackle points and 5 raid points. In season 9, he improved with 84 tackle points and 5 raid points.

He continued his impressive form with Puneri Paltan in season 10, where he recorded 99 tackle points and 27 raid points, making him one of the top defenders in the league in a short but impactful career.

3. Guman Singh (Gujarat Giants) – Rs 1.97 crore

Guman Singh was another big buy at the PKL 2024 auction, with Gujarat Giants securing his services for Rs 1.97 crore. Guman made his debut in season 7 with Jaipur Pink Panthers but played only 3 matches, scoring 5 raid points. He joined Patna Pirates in season 8 and improved significantly, scoring 95 raid points and 2 tackle points.

He continued his dominance in season 7 with 346 raid points and won the MVP award. 5. Bharat Hooda (UP Yoddhas) – Rs 1.30 crore

Bharat Hooda was another significant purchase at the PKL season 11 auction, with UP Yoddhas investing Rs 1.30 crore in the all-rounder. Bharat debuted in season 8 with Bengaluru Bulls, scoring 115 raid points and 14 tackle points. He improved in season 9, recording 279 raid points and 2 tackle points.

Although he had a quieter season 10, with just 103 raid points and 6 tackle points, Bharat has the potential to make a strong comeback. A change of team might be just what he needs to rediscover his form.
