5. 2nd Semi-Final, T20 WorldCup at Durban, Sep 22 2007
India scored 188 runs while Australia scored 173 runs in the cricket match. India won by 15 runs.
It was the first time India and Australia played a T20 match. India chose to bat first but didn’t start well, losing two early wickets. Then Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa played really well. Yuvraj scored 70 runs quickly, and Uthappa scored 34 runs.
Australia started their batting strongly, but Sreesanth, an Indian bowler, stopped them by taking important wickets. Despite some good batting from the Australians, they couldn’t score enough runs to win.
In the end, India won the match and reached the final against Pakistan.

Australia scored 160 runs and lost 6 wickets. India chased the target and won with 161 runs and 4 wickets in 19.1 overs. India won with 6 wickets and 5 balls left.
The match was crucial for both teams to reach the semifinals of the World T20 tournament. New Zealand had already secured a spot in the semis by winning all their group matches.
India and Australia faced each other in a do-or-die match. Australia batted first and scored 160 runs. In response, India struggled initially but Virat Kohli’s brilliant batting helped them chase down the target.
Kohli’s innings of 82 runs from 51 balls was exceptional. He reached 1500 T20I runs in the fewest innings. His partnership with Dhoni ensured India’s victory, with Dhoni sealing the win by hitting a boundary.
3. T20I India tour of Australia at Melbourne, Feb 1 2008
Australia scored 75 runs and lost only one wicket. Australia won the game by 9 wickets with 52 balls left to play.
India usually does well against Australia in T20 cricket. But this time, Australia won their first T20 match against India. India chose to bat first after winning the coin toss. But except for Irfan Pathan who scored 26 runs, none of the other Indian players could score more than ten. India only managed to hit three fours, and Pathan didn’t hit any of them. Nathan Bracken was tough for Indian batsmen, taking three wickets and giving away only 11 runs in 2.3 overs.
India’s total score of 74 runs is one of the lowest scores in T20 cricket, ranking 19th lowest overall and fourth lowest among test-playing nations.
Australia easily chased down the target in just 11.2 overs, losing only one wicket. Even though they won, it was tough for batsmen to score because Australia only hit three fours and two sixes.
This match started Australia’s three-match winning streak against India in T20 cricket. After this streak, Australia only won twice in the next ten games against India.

2. T20I Australia tour of India at Rajkot, Oct 10 2013
Australia made 201 runs and lost 7 wickets while playing. India made 202 runs and lost 4 wickets, India won by 6 wickets with 2 balls left to play.
Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh played well in some of India’s wins against Australia in T20 cricket. Yuvraj scored his highest T20I score in this match.
India chose to bowl first after winning the coin toss. Australia started strong, scoring 56 runs in 4.5 overs before losing Nic Maddinson’s wicket. Maddinson made 34 runs from 16 balls. Aaron Finch, his partner, kept the momentum going, scoring 89 runs from 52 balls. Australia reached 174 runs with six wickets down when Finch got out. They finished with 201 runs.
India had a tough target to chase, needing 201 runs to win. They started well, and after 8.3 overs, Yuvraj joined Kohli with India needing 122 runs to win. Kohli got out in the 12th over, leaving Yuvraj on eight runs.
Yuvraj then played superbly, scoring 69 runs from 30 balls with seven fours and five sixes. Dhoni supported him, and India successfully chased the target with two balls remaining.
This win marked the beginning of India’s seven-match winning streak against Australia in T20I cricket. It’s also India’s second-highest run chase in T20I and the highest against Australia.
1. 3rd T20I, India tour of Australia at Sydney, Jan 31 2016
Australia scored 197 runs with 5 wickets down. India chased this score and won the match with 7 wickets left and no balls remaining. This was the latest T20 match between Australia and India. It was India’s third highest successful chase ever and the second highest against Australia.
Australia chose to bat first after winning the toss. Shane Watson scored 124 runs off 71 balls for Australia. He hit ten fours and six sixes.
For India, Rohit Sharma scored 52 runs, Shikar Dhawan scored 26 runs, and Virat Kohli scored 50 runs. When Kohli got out, India needed 51 runs to win with seven wickets left.
Yuvraj Singh struggled to score runs and faced Shane Watson in a crucial over. He only scored four runs. In the final over, Yuvraj hit a four and a six but then gave the strike to Suresh Raina.
Raina scored the two runs needed to win the game with a four on the last ball. Yuvraj was relieved and celebrated with Raina.
Cameron Bancroft missed an opportunity to dismiss Raina early in the game.
Even though Australia lost, Shane Watson was named the man of the match for his impressive century. It was the highest score by any player in a T20 match between these two teams.
