In T20 cricket, Bangladesh found some great players. They’ve amazed everyone with their fantastic performances.

5. Litton Das vs India, 2022 T20 World Cup

Litton Das is really good at cricket in Bangladesh. He has scored a lot of runs in the shortest form of the game called T20. In a big T20 tournament called the T20 World Cup, he played really well.

In one match against India, India scored 184 runs when they batted first. Litton Das played amazingly when it was Bangladesh’s turn to bat. He scored 60 runs from just 27 balls. That means he hit the ball really hard and far. But sadly, after he got out, Bangladesh couldn’t win the match. They lost by five runs, according to the way the game was counted because of the weather.

4. Mahmudullah vs Sri Lanka , 2018 Nidahas Trophy 

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka played a big cricket match in the Nidahas Trophy in 2018. The winner would go to the finals. Sri Lanka scored 159 runs, thanks to good batting from Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera.

Bangladesh started well but then lost some wickets and were in trouble. They needed 51 runs to win from 31 balls. Mahmudullah played amazingly, scoring 43 runs not out from just 18 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes. Thanks to him, Bangladesh won and reached the finals. But in the final match, they lost to India.

3. Sabbir Rahman vs Sri Lanka, 2016 Asia Cup

Bangladesh played against Sri Lanka in the fifth game of the 2016 Asia Cup in Mirpur. Bangladesh chose to bat first but had a rough start, losing both their opening batsmen without scoring any runs in the first two overs. Sri Lankan bowlers were doing well, and Bangladesh was struggling at 2 for 2.

Then, Sabbir Rahman started attacking the Sri Lankan team right away. He scored 80 runs from 54 balls, helping Bangladesh reach a total of 147 runs. Sabbir hit ten fours and three sixes during his impressive innings.

After Sabbir’s excellent batting, Bangladesh’s bowlers did a great job and kept taking wickets regularly. As a result, Sri Lanka could only manage to score 124 runs in their 20 overs. Bangladesh won the match by 23 runs. Sabbir Rahman was awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding half-century that helped Bangladesh win.

2. Shakib Al Hasan vs Pakistan, T20 World Cup 2012

Shakib Al Hasan is a really good player in T20 cricket. He has scored 2243 runs and taken 128 wickets in 109 matches. He played a great game for Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup in 2012.

Bangladesh chose to bat first. Pakistan’s bowling was tough, but Shakib did well. He scored 84 runs in 54 balls with 11 fours and two sixes.

Because of Shakib’s good play, Bangladesh made 175 runs. But their bowlers couldn’t stop Pakistan from winning. Pakistan chased the target and won with eight balls left.

1. Mohammad Ashraful vs West Indies, ICC World T20 2007

In 2007, Bangladesh played against the West Indies in the fifth match of the first-ever T20 World Cup. West Indies batted first and scored 164 runs in 20 overs. Devon Smith scored the most runs for them with 51 runs off 52 balls. Shakib was the best bowler for Bangladesh, taking four wickets for 34 runs.

Bangladesh started their batting turn poorly, losing two early wickets and having only 28 runs after four overs. The required rate to win was increasing, and the target seemed hard to achieve. But Bangladesh’s captain, Mohammad Ashraful, had a different plan. He played brilliantly, scoring 61 runs in just 27 balls, including seven fours and three sixes. Because of his outstanding performance, Bangladesh managed to chase down the target with two overs remaining. Ashraful was given the Player of the Match award for his amazing innings.
