The 2024 Women’s Premier League ended with Royal Challengers Bangalore beating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets to win the trophy. Ellyse Perry from RCB made history by winning the Orange Cap.
Perry, a seasoned player for RCB, was praised for her great performances and received recognition for her achievements. But besides her, some young players also impressed everyone with their skills on the big T20 stage. Let’s talk about five of these players who became very popular after the 2024 WPL.

5. Shreyanka Patil
In Bangalore’s amazing season, Shreyanka Patil played a big part in their bowling. She took 13 wickets in eight games and ended up winning the Purple Cap. In the final game against DC, she did really well, taking 4 wickets for 12 runs. She was also great in the playoffs, getting 2 wickets for 16 runs against Mumbai Indians. While everyone remembers other players’ great performances, we shouldn’t forget how important Patil’s bowling was for Bangalore’s success.
4. Jemimah Rodrigues
Jemimah Rodrigues played really well for Delhi in cricket. She helped the team score runs. In nine games, she scored 235 runs very quickly, and In one game against MI at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, she played her best game, scoring 69 runs without getting out, that helped her team win by 29 runs.
In another important game against RCB, Delhi won by just one run. Jemimah, who is 23 years old, played a great innings, scoring 58 runs in just 36 balls. Her batting was a big help in making Delhi the runners-up for two years in a row.
3. Richa Ghosh
Richa Ghosh played really well for RCB. She helped them win some important matches by scoring a lot of runs. In a crucial match against MI at Arun Jaitley Stadium, she stayed calm and made a partnership with Ellyse Perry to help RCB chase down 114 runs. She did a great job finishing games and won her team a few matches. Overall, she scored 257 runs in 10 matches with a strike rate of 141.98.
2. Shafali Verma
Shafali Verma helped Delhi get to the final for two years in a row. She scored 309 runs in nine games, hitting the ball really fast. She and her captain Meg Lanning gave Delhi great starts as the first batters. In the first games, Verma was more aggressive than her captain. After a bad start in the first game, she scored fifty runs in two games that Delhi easily won. In the final game, she scored 44 runs in just 27 balls, the most for Delhi.
1. Radha Yadav
Radha Yadav was a tough challenge for batters in the league because of her left-arm bowling. She bowled well, taking wickets and not giving away many runs. Even after her team lost the first game against MI, she played exceptionally well against UP Warriorz.
Together with Marizanne Kapp, they bowled tightly, limiting Warriorz to just 119 runs. Delhi easily won the match, beating UP by nine wickets. Yadav took the most wickets in the match, getting 4 wickets for 20 runs. She played in nine matches for DC and took 10 wickets, keeping her economy rate low at 7.48.
