Neeraj Chopra to Defend Olympic Gold in Paris

Neeraj Chopra, India’s first track and field Olympic gold medallist, is set to defend his men’s javelin title in Paris. He is also India’s second-ever individual Olympic gold medallist.

Men’s Javelin Throw Qualification

Neeraj will compete in the Men’s Javelin Throw qualification event along with Kishore Jena. The Group A qualification round begins at 1:50 PM, followed by Group B at 3:20 PM on the same day. Neeraj and Kishore won gold and silver medals, respectively, at the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year.

Neeraj’s Achievements Since Tokyo

Since his Tokyo victory, Neeraj Chopra has continued to excel. He won the Diamond League title in 2022 and an Asian Games gold medal in 2023.

The javelin throw final will take place at 11:55 PM (IST) on August 8.

Venue for Track and Field Events

All track and field events at Paris 2024 will be held at the iconic Stade de France.
