Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane was the first player in IPL history to achieve the remarkable feat of hitting six consecutive fours in an over. He accomplished this during Match 18 of the 2012 IPL against bowler Shreenath Arivand. Rahane delivered a stellar performance, scoring 103 runs not out off 60 balls, which helped the Rajasthan Royals (RR) secure a 59-run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru. His achievement contributed to the record for the most fours in an IPL match.

Prithvi Shaw – 82 (41 Balls) KKK vs DC, 2021

Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw became the second player in IPL history to hit six fours in an over, matching the impressive record set by Ajinkya Rahane. During Match 25 of the 2021 IPL in Ahmedabad, he scored 82 runs off just 41 balls. In a spectacular performance as an opening batsman for the Delhi Capitals (DC) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Shaw hit all six boundaries in the first over bowled by Shivam Mavi. His explosive innings significantly contributed to DC’s convincing seven-wicket victory. Notably, this achievement also highlighted Shaw’s place among the players with the most fours in an IPL match.

Interestingly, while players have frequently hit five fours in an over, this feat has never been accomplished in T20 Internationals. Additionally, it is worth noting that the most fours in an IPL match were also hit off six consecutive balls by just two players.

The players who have achieved this in international cricket come from West Indies, Sri Lanka, India, and England.
