Bangladesh is Set to Host South Africa for Two Tests in October

Bangladesh is set to host South Africa for a two-match Test series in October. According to a Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official, the matches are expected to be held in Dhaka and Chattogram.

Schedule and Locations

The series, part of the ICC World Test Championship, is planned to begin on schedule despite concerns due to the country’s political situation. The South African Cricket Board (CSA) will consult with the South African Cricketers Association (SACA) before finalizing the tour, but there are currently no security issues. Additionally, South Africa’s government has not issued any travel warnings for Bangladesh.

The draft itinerary prepared by the BCB indicates that South Africa will arrive in Bangladesh on October 16. The first Test will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka starting October 21. The second Test is scheduled for the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from October 29, with the tourists leaving on November 3.

A BCB official expressed hope that the tour will proceed as planned and mentioned that an official announcement will be made soon.

Recent Changes to Cricket Events

It’s worth noting that the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup was recently moved from Bangladesh to the UAE due to political unrest. Similarly, New Zealand A’s tour of Bangladesh has been rescheduled.
