Rohit Sharma, a two-time T20 World Cup winner with India, tops the list of players with the most sixes in T20 Internationals. The Mumbai native finished his T20I career with a staggering 205 sixes, surpassing other legends like AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle.

1. Rohit Sharma – 205 Sixes

Rohit Sharma made his T20I debut in 2007 during the T20 World Cup in South Africa, where his performances hinted at the potential he would later fulfill. Though he faced a temporary setback in 2008 when he was sidelined, Rohit returned to become a crucial player for India in T20 cricket.

Rohit scored five T20I centuries, including one against South Africa, with other tons coming against Sri Lanka, England, West Indies, and Afghanistan. Australia has been his favorite opponent, hitting 29 sixes in 23 matches, followed by 22 sixes against Bangladesh. Fondly known as the “Hitman,” Rohit retired from T20Is after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup for India.

2. Martin Guptill – 173 Sixes

While Martin Guptill may not have been a star across all formats, he was a force to reckon with in T20 cricket for New Zealand. In 122 matches, he smashed 173 sixes, often giving New Zealand the quick starts they needed.

Known for his powerful short-arm pull shot, Guptill overcame a disappointing debut where he got out for a duck to deliver consistent performances, including two T20I centuries, one against South Africa and another against England.

Jos Buttler became one of England’s biggest T20 stars, known for his aggressive yet consistent performances in white-ball cricket. His crucial contributions helped England secure titles in 2019 and 2022.

Though he made his T20I debut in 2011, Buttler became a regular performer from 2016 onwards. His ability to clear the ropes, with 137 sixes in 124 matches, makes him one of the most dangerous players, particularly against Australia and India, who have conceded 56 and 45 sixes to him, respectively.

4. Glenn Maxwell – 134 Sixes

Maxwell’s 134 sixes in just 113 games include 34 against India, his favorite T20I opponent, and centuries against West Indies, Sri Lanka, and England.

5. Surya Kumar Yadav – 133 Sixes

Yadav, who debuted relatively late, already has four T20I centuries in just three years, with 35 of his 133 sixes coming against the West Indies.

6. Nicholas Pooran – 132 Sixes

Nicholas Pooran’s journey to stardom has been remarkable, especially after recovering from a serious injury in 2014. Known for his aggressive batting, Pooran hit a quick 50 against India in 2018 and hasn’t looked back since.

In less than 100 matches, Pooran has smashed 132 sixes, though he is still awaiting his first T20I century.

10. Virat Kohli – 124 Sixes

Virat Kohli, known for his unmatched fitness and technique, has hit 124 sixes in T20Is. His lone T20I century came against Afghanistan, but his highest tally of sixes came against Australia, where he struck 26.

Kohli’s iconic six off Haris Rauf in the 2022 T20 World Cup was even named the ICC Shot of the Decade.
