Mohammed Siraj: The Journey of a Rising Star in Indian Cricket

Mohammed Siraj, the son of an auto rickshaw driver, always loved playing cricket. He began by playing tennis ball cricket and made an impressive start in his first club cricket match, where he took nine wickets. Siraj went on to become the first Indian bowler to take four wickets in a single over in international cricket.

Born on March 13, 1994, in Hyderabad, Siraj initially participated in tennis ball tournaments. However, through hard work and consistent performance, he earned a spot in the 2015-16 Ranji Trophy, where he made his first-class cricket debut. The following year, he made his T20 debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

In February 2017, Siraj’s talent caught the attention of Sunrisers Hyderabad, who signed him for ₹2.6 crore. That same year, he made his T20 International debut against New Zealand. In 2018, Royal Challengers Bangalore selected him in the IPL auction. Siraj made his ODI debut in 2019 and his Test debut in 2020 against Australia.

One of the highlights of his career came in the 2023 Asia Cup final, where India emerged victorious. Siraj delivered his best bowling performance and was awarded the Man of the Match. In 2024, he was selected for the World Cup and became a key player for India in the T20 World Cup.
