In the IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their fifth game in a row by beating Delhi Capitals. This win helped RCB a lot in getting closer to the top four teams. Now they have 12 points from 13 matches and a good run rate. Next, they will play against Chennai Super Kings. This match could decide which team makes it to the playoffs. The Super Kings are currently in third place with 7 wins out of 13 matches. Sunrisers Hyderabad have played one match less but have the same number of wins as the Super Kings. They are in fourth place with 14 points. Their run rate is also good. So, both teams are in a good position to reach the playoffs.
IPL 2024 Playoffs Scenarios:
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play against Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings next. If they win just one of these games, they might make it to the playoffs since they already have 14 points and a good Net Run Rate. Lucknow Super Giants also have a chance, but they need to win both of their remaining matches because their Net Run Rate is not good, it’s -0.769.
Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals are still in the race for the playoffs, but they can only get a maximum of 14 points. However, their Net Run Rates aren’t as good as the top teams like CSK, RCB, LSG, or SRH. So, it’s unlikely they’ll make it to the top 4.
How RCB Can Qualify For IPL 2024 Playoffs:
If SRH wins one or both of their matches and LSG doesn’t win more than one, RCB could secure the third spot in the IPL points table. Then, it all comes down to the match between CSK and RCB to decide who makes it to the playoffs. If RCB beats CSK by 18 runs or more (assuming CSK scores 200 runs batting first), they’ll improve their run-rate enough to surpass CSK. But if RCB has to chase a target of 201, they’ll need to do it with about 11 balls left. So, if things go well for RCB and they win by a good margin against CSK, they have a chance to make it to the playoffs.
