Top 5 Player Battles to Watch out for in RR vs PBKS Match No. 65 in IPL 2024

Top 5 Player Battles to Watch out for in RR vs PBKS Match No. 65 in IPL 2024

The 65th match of IPL 2024 will happen on Tuesday in Guwahati. It’s between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). This IPL season is almost at its end, and every game now is super important. RR has 16 points and needs a win to secure a top-two spot. PBKS is out of the playoffs but wants to end on a high. The match will be at Barsapara Cricket Stadium.

Here are the top five player matchups to keep an eye on:

5. Rilee Rossouw vs Ravi Ashwin

Rilee Rossouw is an important player in the game. He plays aggressively and scored fifty runs quickly in the last match. He’s good at facing bowlers. PBKS wants him to play well in the middle of the game. But, he might face a challenge from Ravi Ashwin, who is skilled at bowling to left-handed players. Ashwin has a good track record against Rossouw, having dismissed him once in six balls in the IPL.

4. Yashasvi Jaiswal vs Arshdeep Singh

Yashasvi Jaiswal will have to step up in the game since Jos Buttler won’t be playing. His job of scoring runs at the beginning of the match is super important, especially because Rajasthan Royals haven’t been doing great lately. Even though Jaiswal has performed well this season, he sometimes struggles to turn his good starts into big scores. Plus, he has had a tough time facing Arshdeep Singh, who has gotten him out twice in just 20 balls in the IPL, while giving away very few runs.

3. Jonny Bairstow vs Trent Boult

Trent Boult, Jonny Bairstow, RR vs PBKS, IPL 2024

Jonny Bairstow is playing very good for Punjab Kings this year. He’s a really good batter and can make lots of runs fast. But in the next game, he’ll be playing against Trent Boult, who has been hard for him before. Boult has gotten Bairstow out 11 times in international games and once in the IPL. So, it’ll be interesting to see how they play against each other this time.

2. Riyan Parag vs Kagiso Rabada

Riyan Parag from RR is doing really well this season. He’s scored 483 runs and is one of the top scorers in the tournament. In the last game, despite tough conditions in Chennai, he scored the most runs. With Liam Livingstone unavailable, PBKS might bring Kagiso Rabada back into the team. Rabada has a good record against Parag, having dismissed him twice in just 18 balls and giving away only 19 runs in the IPL.

1. Sanju Samson vs Sam Curran

Sanju Samson has a big job to do to help his team win and move to the next round. He’s an important player, and if he keeps playing well, he could cause trouble for PBKS. But when he’s faced Sam Curran before, he hasn’t done too great. Curran has bowled 15 balls to him, given away 20 runs, and got him out twice already.
