5. Kapil Dev – 61 sixes

Kapil Dev, who used to play cricket for India, hit the ball out of the boundary ropes 61 times in 131 matches. Once, he even did it four times in a row in a match against England in 1990 at Lord’s, which helped his team avoid a follow-on.

Apart from being good at hitting the ball far, Kapil was really good at playing when it mattered the most. He could both bat and bowl really well in Test matches, which made him a great all-rounder. His performance in cricket left a lasting impression on the sport.

4. Sachin Tendulkar – 69 sixes

Sachin Tendulkar played Test cricket for 24 years and in 200 matches. He scored almost 16,000 runs and made 51 centuries, which is more than anyone else in history. He was really good at playing in tough conditions.

People all over the world loved watching him play because he was so talented with the bat. He hit 69 sixes in Test cricket, showing he could score big hits too.

Dhoni played in a unique way in Test matches. He hit many sixes and beautiful boundaries. When he retired, he had hit 77 sixes in just 144 innings. He did this even on difficult pitches in England and the West Indies.

One of the best moments of his career was in 2012. In a match against Australia in Chennai, he hit six sixes in one innings and scored his highest Test score of 224.

2. Rohit Sharma – 79 sixes 

Even though Rohit Sharma has played fewer matches than others mentioned, he has hit 79 sixes in only 97 innings. He started playing in this format in 2013 and became a regular player after doing well in the 2019 home series against South Africa, where he hit 19 sixes.

In 2024, during the 3rd Test against England, Sharma hit his 79th six, surpassing MS Dhoni.

What’s impressive is that Sharma doesn’t just hit sixes in India’s favorable conditions but also on difficult pitches in Australia and England.

1. Virender Sehwag – 91 sixes 

Virender Sehwag was a really good cricket player, especially in Test matches. He hit a lot of sixes, especially one when he scored 300 runs against Pakistan in 2004. He hit 91 sixes in his career, which is a lot. His style of playing was fearless and aggressive, and he scored a lot of runs quickly. Even though he played for a long time and faced many balls, his scoring rate was still very high. Sehwag’s ability to hit big shots and score lots of runs shows how good he was at cricket.
