He also suggested that IPL grounds should have larger boundaries to enhance the competition.

Ganguly emphasized the need for teams to reveal their impact players before the toss. He argued that this would add a layer of tactical planning and skill to the game. By making this decision beforehand, teams would need to carefully plan their strategies, making the game more challenging and engaging. Despite his suggestion, Ganguly remains a strong advocate for the impact-player rule, considering it a valuable addition to the tournament.
Support for Young Players and Rishabh Pant
Ganguly defended Prithvi Shaw, who had a disappointing IPL season, stating that Shaw is still young and learning the intricacies of T20 cricket. At 23, Shaw has significant potential and is expected to improve with time. Ganguly also praised wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who has returned to form after a severe car accident in 2022. He expressed his happiness seeing Pant perform well for Delhi Capitals and highlighted Pant’s hard work in regaining his old form.
Wriddhiman Saha’s Return to Bengal Cricket
Ganguly expressed his hope that Bengal selectors would pick Wriddhiman Saha, who wishes to return to play for Bengal after a stint with Tripura. Saha, originally from Bengal, played for Tripura as a professional for two years and now aims to return to his home state. Ganguly, currently not involved in Bengal cricket, believes that the selectors will make the right decision regarding Saha’s return. He mentioned taking a break from cricket administration after his tenure with BCCI but remains confident in the selectors’ judgment.
