India did really well in their first T20 World Cup, winning the title. Since then, they’ve been trying hard to win another one. They won the first cup with a young team led by MS Dhoni. The closest they got to winning again was in 2014, when they reached the finals but lost to Sri Lanka.

5. Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir was really important for India in big cricket tournaments. He scored the most runs in the final matches of the T20 World Cup in 2007 and the regular World Cup in 2011. People called him the man for important games because he always did well when India really needed him.

In T20 World Cups, Gambhir is the fifth-best scorer for India. He made 524 runs in 21 games, with an average of 26.20 and a strike rate of 118.01. He got four half-centuries in T20 World Cups and played until the 2012 tournament ended.

4. MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni has been around since the maiden edition of the T20 World cup and he was the skipper of the side till the previous edition of the T20 World cup in 2016. The wicket-keeper batsman is one of the greatest finishers in the limited-overs format and he has played some valuable innings at the end overs.

Dhoni accumulate 529 runs in the 33 games he played for India in the T20 World cups and has an average of 35.26 and at a strike rate of 123.88. It is very surprising that Dhoni hasn’t scored a T20 international fifty in the tournament history despite his good numbers and 45 is his highest score.

3. Yuvraj Singh

Yuvraj was a really important player for India in T20 World Cups. He was the first person to hit six sixes in one over in T20 cricket, against England in the first T20 World Cup. He’s really good at shorter matches and can turn a game around quickly.

In T20 World Cups, Yuvraj scored 593 runs in 31 games, making him India’s third-highest scorer. He played in the T20 World Cup until the last edition. His strike rate in T20 World Cups was 128.92, and he made four fifties.

2. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been playing in the T20 World Cup since it started. He was part of the team that won the tournament in 2007, where he played as a finisher. He’s considered one of the best batsmen in the world right now, especially as an opener for India.

In the T20 World Cup matches, Rohit has scored 673 runs in 29 games, with an average of 37.38 and a strike rate of 126.98. He’s playing a crucial role in this tournament. He has scored six half-centuries so far, making him the second-highest run-scorer in T20 World Cup history.

1. Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is definitely the best at winning matches for India in shorter cricket games. He’s also one of the very few players in the whole world who usually scores more than 50 points in all types of cricket games. He’s been playing in this tournament since 2012.

In T20 World Cup games, Kohli has scored the most points for India, with 834 points in 17 games. On average, he scores about 83 points in each game and has a good strike rate of 131.75. He’s made 10 scores of 50 points or more in the tournament and was the best player in the last two tournaments.
