Suryakumar Yadav’s team from India won by 44 runs against Australia in their 2nd T20I cricket match on November 26 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Trivandrum.

India batted first and scored a lot of runs, especially the top three batsmen – Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Ishan Kishan, who each scored more than 50 runs. Rinku Singh also made a quick 31 runs towards the end. They finished with a total of 235/4.

Australia struggled to chase the target as Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna took wickets, limiting them to 191/9 despite good performances from Marcus Stoinis and Matthew Wade.

This match also saw many records being broken. Here are five of the most important ones.

5. Team with the highest total of 220+ scores in T20I history

Team India is showing other teams how to play aggressively, especially in shorter cricket matches. They scored 235 runs on Sunday, making them the team with the most scores of over 220 runs in T20 international matches. This was the ninth time India achieved this, beating South Africa, who managed it eight times.

4. Highest team total in IND vs AUS T20Is

India and Australia played against each other 28 times in T20I matches. But this Sunday, India made the highest score ever against Australia in T20I matches.

The Indian team scored 235 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. It’s the highest score ever between India and Australia in T20Is.

India’s score of 235/4 beat Australia’s previous record of 211/6, which they made in Mohali in 2022.

3. First-ever T20I match in which all three of India’s batters scored 50+

In the second T20 match of the series happening now, something special happened: for the first time ever, the top three Indian batters all scored more than 50 points each in one T20 game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who opened the game, started playing very aggressively and quickly scored 53 in just 25 balls. Ishan Kishan also did great, hitting 52 in 32 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad played steadily and scored 58 in 43 balls.

2. Highest score by an Indian in powerplay in a T20I

Yashasvi Jaiswal played really well at the beginning of the game, which amazed the audience. He’s a young player, and in only his 10th time playing this type of cricket game, he helped set up a good situation for India.

He scored 53 runs in just 25 balls, which is really fast. He had a great strike rate of 212. Sadly, he got out on the second to last ball before the powerplay ended.

Still, his 53 runs during the match are the most any Indian player has ever scored in the early part of this type of cricket game. He broke the record held by Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who each scored 50 runs in a similar game against New Zealand and Scotland.

1. Joint-most wins in T20I history
