India Women played against South Africa Women in their second women odi match of a three-game series on June 19 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. South Africa Women won the toss and chose to bowl. However, India dominated the game with outstanding batting performances.
Smriti Mandhana continued her excellent form from the first match, supported by captain Harmanpreet Kaur. Both players scored centuries: Mandhana made 136 runs from 120 balls with 18 fours and two sixes, while Kaur remained unbeaten with 103 runs from 88 balls, hitting nine fours and three sixes. India scored 325 runs in their 50 overs, marking their first 300+ total at home.
Despite India’s strong total, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp led a strong reply. Kapp scored 114 runs from 94 balls with eleven fours and three sixes, forming a crucial 174-run partnership with captain Wolvaardt. However, South Africa fell short by four runs in the last over, with Wolvaardt remaining unbeaten on 135 runs from 135 balls. It was an exciting match with a total of 646 runs scored.

5. ENG-W vs SA-W- 633 runs
In 2022, England Women and South Africa Women played Women odi at Grace Road Stadium. England batted first, led by Tamsin Beaumont. Emma Lamb (65) and Tamsin (119) made a strong start with a 149-run partnership. Later, Sophia Dunkley (51) and captain Heather Knight (63) scored well, helping England reach a total of 371 runs.
South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt (56) began strongly but lacked support. Despite efforts from Marizanne Kapp (62) and Chloe Tryon (70), South Africa were bowled out for 262, losing by 109 runs.

4. IRE-W vs NZ-W- 635
New Zealand Women chose to bat first after winning the coin toss in the first game of a three-match ODI series at Claremont Road Cricket Ground in 2018. Suzie Bates (151) and Jess Watkin (62) had a strong start, scoring 172 runs together.
Maddy Green continued the momentum with 121 runs off 77 balls. Supported by Amelia Kerr, who scored 81 runs not out from 45 balls, NZ-W set a record score of 490 runs in women’s cricket.
In response, Ireland Women struggled, with Laura Delany scoring the most runs (37). New Zealand’s Leigh Kasperek took four wickets, helping her team win the match by a massive margin of 346 runs.
3. AUS-W vs ENG-W- 641 runs
In the 2022 Women’s World Cup final, Australia faced England. Heather Knight won the coin toss and chose for Australia to bat first.
Alyssa Healy was outstanding, scoring 170 runs from 138 balls in the final. She hit 26 boundaries. Rachel Haynes (68) and Beth Mooney (62) also made significant scores as Australia ended with 356/5 in their 50 overs.
England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt played well, scoring an unbeaten 148 off 121 balls, but lacked support from teammates. Alana King and Jess Jonassen took three wickets each as England fell short by 71 runs.

2. IND-W vs SA-W- 646 runs
In the second match of a three-game series on June 19, 2024, India’s women’s team faced South Africa’s. India batted first, with Smriti Mandhana scoring 136 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur adding 103 not out. They totaled 325 runs in 50 overs. South Africa replied with Laura Wolvaardt scoring 135 not out and Marizanne Kapp 114 runs. However, India’s Pooja Vastrakar defended 11 runs in the final over, securing India’s victory by four runs.
1. ENG-W vs SA-W- 678 runs
England women chose to bat first after winning the toss in the 13th match of the 2017 Women’s World Cup. Tamsin Beaumont and Sarah Taylor played exceptionally well, scoring 275 runs together for England. Beaumont made 148 runs from 145 balls with 22 fours and a six, while Taylor scored 147 runs from 104 balls. England totaled 373 runs.
In reply, Laura Wolvaardt, Lizelle Lee, and Chloe Tryon each scored fifty runs, but South Africa couldn’t turn these into big scores. They managed 308 runs in their 50 overs, falling short by 68 runs. Danielle Hazell took three wickets for England.
