Top 10 T20I Jerseys of all Time

10 T20I Jerseys of All Time

T20I Cricket has evolved significantly over the years and continues to do so. Originally, there was only Test cricket, where matches lasted five days. To make the game more exciting, limited-overs cricket was introduced, though Test cricket remained.

ODIs brought many changes like new rules, formats, and even colored balls. Teams began wearing colorful jerseys, departing from the traditional white uniforms. Since the 1992 World Cup, colored uniforms have been standard in ODIs.

These changes also came to T20I cricket. Teams now reveal different jerseys for tournaments, sometimes altering their base colors. Some designs have impressed fans more than others.

Here, we’ll list the top 10 jerseys in T20 international cricket:

10. Sri Lanka 2014

Sri Lanka wore a blue jersey during the 2014 T20I World Cup, which brought them success. The navy blue color with hints of yellow on the collar was a smart combination of dark and light colors.

They won their first T20I World Cup in 2014 wearing this jersey, marking the end of a great era for Sri Lankan cricket.

9. New Zealand 2022

New Zealand’s cricket team rarely makes mistakes with their gear. They switched from their all-black look to a retro style in the late 1990s, opting for ash gray over the beige of the 1980s. This new uniform combines heritage gray with black. In the 1990s, gray was a common color on New Zealand jerseys.

The shirt is mainly gray on top and black at the bottom. Three white lines are stitched across the chest of the black pants. The shirt also features the Southern Cross, a significant symbol of the nation, instead of the well-known fern.

8. India 2007

India wore their most famous T20I jersey during their first T20 World Cup win. The light blue jersey featured a tricolour stripe on the right side, with yellow details for player names, jersey numbers, and the country’s name. This jersey is considered lucky as India won the tournament wearing it.

7. England 2022

England didn’t change their T20I jersey much and stuck with their usual one for international matches. The red shirt with three cheerful lions looked cool with the blue trousers, creating a nice contrast.

England has often changed their jerseys, not sticking to just one color. The red and blue combo has been particularly pleasing to see.

6. Ireland 2022

Ireland is often underestimated, but they perform exceptionally well when they get the opportunity. This was evident in their jersey design for the 2022 T20I World Cup.

The jersey features a dark blue collar and a striking pattern that transitions from green to blue on the torso. This unique design, blending bright green with navy blue, was one of Ireland’s best jersey creations.

5. Australia 2007

In the past, Australia ruled cricket like it was their own game. Their jersey, in dark yellow with grey arms and sides, featured stars like their national flag. This jersey evokes nostalgia for Australians and cricket fans worldwide, recalling Australia’s dominance and memorable moments.

4. India 2022

In the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia, India wore one of their best jerseys ever seen in this format of the game. The jersey resembled India’s training gear, with a lighter shade of blue and darker sleeves. It also had a touch of dark blue extending from the left onto the torso.

The team, known as the Men in Blue, chose a design reminiscent of older times, featuring two shades of blue dominated by sky blue. Bright orange accents adorned the buttons, collar, and the word “INDIA” itself on the jersey, which is referred to as “One Blue.”

3. Australia 2022

Australia’s kit for the T20 World Cup 2022 was the most distinctive and eye-catching. For the first time in a significant tournament, Australian designers had included a great deal of artwork into the jersey, going for an indigenous-style outfit.

The front of the shirt was mostly coloured green and gold, which is a common representation of the Australian side, with black covering the sleeves. The remaining area was occupied by the artwork created by Walkabout Wickets. The jersey as a whole features a lot of representation, which raises the team’s profile.

2. India 2014

The new blue jersey, slightly darker than before, shows the team’s passion. It features stripes in red, white, and green for added style. Fans loved its shiny look and high-quality fabric, making it a top choice.

India had a great time wearing this jersey, defeating tough teams like Australia, England, West Indies, and Sri Lanka in ODI series. They also reached the 2014 T20 World Cup final, showing their success in shorter formats. This design brought luck to the Men in Blue.

1. Australia 2020 T20I Jersey (India tour of Australia)

The Australian men’s cricket team wore a special Indigenous shirt for the first time during the T20I series against India in December 2020. This was to honor and support Indigenous Australians in cricket.

The blue river-like design on the shirt symbolizes the connection between families and land. The yellow dots represent stars, honoring our ancestors and those who came before us. One of the jersey designs pays tribute to “Walkabouts crickets,” celebrating past, present, and future Aboriginal cricketers.
