Samit’s selection comes after the BCCI announced the ODI and 4-day squads for the series against Australia. Samit will be part of both squads. Mohamed Amaan from Uttar Pradesh will lead the limited-overs team, while Soham Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh will captain the red-ball squad.

Just like his father, Samit has made a name for himself in Karnataka’s domestic cricket. He had an impressive performance in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy, where he helped Karnataka win the trophy earlier this year with 16 wickets and 382 runs.
