Samit Dravid’s Reaction to His First India U-19 Call-Up

Samit Dravid, a young fast-bowling all-rounder, has been making waves in domestic and youth cricket this past year. The son of famous Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid, Samit has just received a significant opportunity: he has been selected for the Indian U-19 team for their upcoming series against the Australian U-19 squad.

Samit Dravid’s Reaction

In an interview with Star Sports Kannada, the 18-year-old expressed his joy about the selection: “First of all, I’m very happy to be selected, and thank you for all your wishes. I am feeling great; I’ve worked very hard for this moment.

Recent Developments

Samit’s selection comes after the BCCI announced the ODI and 4-day squads for the series against Australia. Samit will be part of both squads. Mohamed Amaan from Uttar Pradesh will lead the limited-overs team, while Soham Patwardhan from Madhya Pradesh will captain the red-ball squad.

Following in His Father’s Footsteps

Just like his father, Samit has made a name for himself in Karnataka’s domestic cricket. He had an impressive performance in the U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy, where he helped Karnataka win the trophy earlier this year with 16 wickets and 382 runs. Samit’s style and technique are reminiscent of his father’s, who is known for his technical skill and solid batting. Samit has also shown talent and aggression in fast bowling.

Looking Ahead

With high expectations and the pressure of his famous name, Indian fans are hopeful that Samit can become a valuable fast-bowling all-rounder. The series against Australia starts with three one-day matches in Puducherry on September 21, followed by two four-day matches in Chennai.
