Barcelona have discovered another rising star from their famous La Masia academy. This time, all eyes are on two 16-year-old cousins, Toni and Guille Fernandez.
The young players impressed during Barça Atletic’s game against Ourense at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in Group 1 of the Primera RFEF. By half-time, Barcelona led 3-0, and much of the credit went to the Fernandez cousins, who both started the match.
Early Goals and Toni’s Moment
The first goal of the match came from a penalty scored by Victor Barbera, setting the stage for a strong performance. However, it was Toni Fernandez who stole the spotlight.

A Special Night for Toni
In his first game back after recovering from a minor muscle injury, Toni scored a brilliant goal. After a quick one-two pass with Urena, he launched an acrobatic left-footed shot into the net.
This goal was even more meaningful because it was Toni’s first game with the reserve team. Despite being new at this level, Toni showed amazing skill and flexibility, playing as a left-footed winger, a role similar to Lamine Yamal. He can also play as a striker, making him an even more exciting prospect for Barcelona.
Toni’s goal not only showed his talent but also broke a record. At just 16 years, one month, and three days old, he became the youngest scorer in the reserve team’s history.
Guille’s Contribution
Just before half-time, Toni teamed up with his cousin Guille to create another memorable moment. After another one-two play, Guille smashed the ball past the Ourense goalkeeper, scoring a fantastic goal of his own. Guille, a right-footed midfielder, is also showing great potential for Barcelona’s future.
A Future Luis Suarez Replacement?
With Toni’s standout performance and ability to score goals, many are starting to wonder if he could be the long-term replacement for Luis Suarez. His attacking versatility makes him a promising future star for Barcelona.
