Indian cricketer and Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made a funny request to billionaire and former Twitter owner Elon Musk. Chahal asked Musk to put a copyright strike on Punjab Kings fast bowler Harshal Patel. This happened because during a match between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings, Harshal celebrated a catch in his own unique style. After completing the catch, Harshal celebrated in a manner reminiscent of Chahal’s viral meme. Sharing a picture of Harshal’s celebration, Chahal wrote on Twitter, “Dear Elon Musk Paaji, we need to copyright Harshal’s style.”
Chahal’s post announcing his selection in India’s T20 World Cup team on April 30 went viral on social media. In the match, Kagiso Rabada of Chennai Super Kings bowled a short ball outside the off-stump, which Samit Rijwani attempted to play an uppercut. However, the ball couldn’t go past the third man, where Harshal dived at the right time to take a catch.
“Punjab Kings defeat Chennai Super Kings, keep playoff hopes alive”
Punjab Kings defeated Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, keeping their playoff hopes alive. This was the fifth consecutive occasion when Punjab defeated Chennai, equaling Mumbai’s record. Chasing a target of 163 runs, PBKS achieved victory in 17.5 overs with contributions from PBKS’ Johnny Bairstow, who scored 46 off 30 balls, and Riley Meredith, who scored 43 off 23 balls.
Before this, Ruturaj Gaikwad (62 runs off 48 balls) set an aggressive half-century and helped CSK to reach 162 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul Chahar (2 wickets for 16 runs in four overs) and Harpreet Brar (2 wickets for 17 runs in four overs) were the standout bowlers for PBKS. Brar was later named Player of the Match.
After the match, Brar said, “It was a good wicket for bowling, and Rahul (Chahar) also bowled well. I have been playing for 6 years, so my confidence is quite high. Bowling against these stalwarts now feels normal to me; I just bowl according to my strength. Honestly, I don’t think about taking wickets; my goal is just to bowl a lot of dot balls, and wickets come from dot balls. When wickets fall, spinners gain confidence, and it becomes a bit helpful.”
